Russell has extensive experience in Welsh business through his previous role as Chief Executive of Swansea Business Improvement District (BID), a position he has held since 2009. Russell has played a key role in the ongoing revitalisation of Swansea’s city centre, leading key initiatives and securing three successive five-yearly elections and multimillion-pound support from businesses for projects that benefit BID members. Before joining the CBI, Russell supported the delivery of over £1.3 billion in regeneration investment in Swansea city centre and the wider region, collaborating closely with investment partners, local authority, the Welsh and UK governments, as well as various businesses and developers. Rusell is a graduate of the University of South Wales, a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Marketing and resides in Swansea.
