Russell brings over two decades of leadership experience and a well-established reputation for supporting Welsh businesses and championing economic initiatives that enhance the prosperity of the business community.

With extensive experience in the Welsh business sector, Russell previously served as Chief Executive of Swansea Business Improvement District (BID), a role he held since 2009. Under his leadership, the BID secured three successive five-yearly re-elections and multimillion-pound backing from businesses to deliver impactful projects for its members. His collaborative approach has grown strong partnerships with investment stakeholders, local authorities, the Welsh and UK governments, as well as numerous businesses and developers.

Russell is a graduate of the University of South Wales, a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Marketing, and resides in Swansea.
