The CBI’s major innovation survey highlighted artificial intelligence, blockchain and the internet of things as the game-changing innovations that will transform business in the next five years.

But while these technologies are in action now, limited adoption, regulatory hurdles and a lack of business understanding mean that the benefits of these innovations can be slow to benefit the wider UK economy.

This report aims to bring these technologies to life for business - but importantly flags the barriers businesses face in harnessing new innovation, and offers recommendations to government that can help.
