The government strategy focuses on ensuring that the NHS and social care sector has access to the PPE it needs. The CBI knows that many businesses across a range of sectors use PPE as part of their usual business operations and are struggling to access the crucial supplies that they need to operate safely. As the economy restarts, this problem is set to increase, and we know that sectors that do not use PPE as usual may be looking to access supplies of various products.
We are trying to understand the total demand from across business to ensure there is a UK wide plan for how this demand can be met and help ensure that both the NHS and business has access to the supply it needs for employees to work safely and for customers to return with confidence.
