Keeping your employees’ and customers’ hearts safe
Along with the British Heart Foundation, the CBI is encouraging its members to take action in a national effort to prioritise heart health.
Tragically, there are more than 30,000 out of hospital cardiac arrests every year in the UK, with a survival rate of less than one in ten. However, CPR and the early use of a defibrillator can more than double someone’s chances of survival.
Your business could make the difference.
What is The Circuit?
The British Heart Foundation, Resuscitation Council UK, NHS England, St John Ambulance and the Association of Ambulance Chief Executives worked with all fourteen NHS ambulance services to develop the national defibrillator network known as The Circuit. There is no cost to register a defibrillator.
It takes less than five minutes to register a defibrillator on The Circuit and 60 seconds later the information is visible to the ambulance services. This helps emergency call handlers to direct bystanders to their nearest defibrillator when 999 is called in the ultimate medical emergency.
There are currently over 81,000 defibrillators registered on The Circuit, however, there are likely to be tens of thousands of defibrillators in locations still unknown to the ambulance services. There’s an opportunity to make a significant, lifesaving impact by registering your defibrillators.
How can I get involved?
Having a defibrillator and registering it on The Circuit demonstrates your commitment to keeping your employees, your customers and your local community safe.
