The Playbook, developed jointly by government and industry in the wake of the collapse of Carillion, lays out seven new initiatives to help change the relationship between government and its suppliers.
Some of the key initiatives included:
- welcome steps to more collaboratively manage risk
- greater certainty about upcoming commercial opportunities
- a commitment to ensure that commissioners look beyond price when selecting private sector partners.
The CBI and its members have long called for these measures, and believe that these new ways of working will place a stronger focus on establishing partnerships based on mutual trust, and ultimately help Government to deliver better public services for citizens.
