Ready, Set, Connect: Delivering a roadmap to supercharge the UK's digital infrastructure

Seamless digital connectivity is not just a nice to have, it’s a business basic. And access to better digital infrastructure will encourage new ways of working and the adoption of new technologies. It will reduce costs and fuel productivity. 

As CBI UK Chief Policy Director Matthew Fell says: “If data is the new oil, then digital connectivity is the pipe that transports it. Seamless connections, from full fibre networks to 5G, offer unprecedented opportunities for businesses and consumers across the UK.” 

The private sector will provide most of the £3bn total investment needed to deliver full fibre networks across the UK – and UK businesses are chomping at the bit to do so – but they need the government to clear the barriers currently in their way.
