Our members will decide on the future role and purpose of the CBI.
On 6 June 2023, the CBI will be hosting an Extraordinary General Meeting (EGM), where members can hear from and question the CBI President and Director General about our cultural reforms and the future direction and purpose of the CBI.
We’ve given members the opportunity to consider and challenge our work as we create a Prospectus that will set out our proposal for our future. We will send this to our members in advance of the EGM for review and consideration. Members will then have the opportunity to vote on this direction of travel.
What’s going to happen at the EGM?
The hybrid event will be held from 12:00 with 90 minutes for presentations and Q&A. It will be followed by a lunch and the opportunity for more private questions for those attending in person.
All CBI members are invited to send representation to the EGM – and our main contact for your account will have been emailed directly with details on how to register. A full agenda will be shared in joining instructions.
Members must register their attendance for either an in person or online ticket no later than 17:00 (UK time) on Friday 2 June 2023. You will need to login, and/or use the same email address registered against your CBI contact record. If you have any issues logging in, read our FAQs.
Who can vote
Full details of the voting process including the question being voted on will be sent alongside the Prospectus. Members can vote online beforehand or at the EGM.
There is one vote per member, regardless of size.
We are using an external voting company to manage the voting process. This ensures it is fair and transparent. It is important that only one representative from each company votes and the external company will be responsible for managing this process.
The result of the vote and next steps will be shared that afternoon once the vote has been verified.
Next steps
Our member survey and listening sessions are now closed, but please contact your Account Manager if you have any feedback you haven’t shared already – or if you are unsure who we have contacted at your organisation. We are always ready to hear from you.
