Adriana Curca
Principal Economist
Adriana is the Manager of CBI Economics. She oversees the delivery of commercial services within the CBI’s Economics Directorate – including services such as economic and policy impact assessments, bespoke business surveys and interviews and economic briefings. Adriana has successfully managed and delivered a number of large-scale research projects and developed the CBI’s economic impact models which estimate the UK, regional and local economic impacts of companies and their investments, as well as the contributions of clusters and niche sectors. She is experienced in working with public and private sector stakeholders to understand their commercial and policy objectives and help them develop robust evidence to support these objectives.
Adriana has also worked in economic policy, working with businesses, HM Treasury and other government departments to drive policy changes in areas such as business taxation, innovation, decarbonisation and skills. She led on business rates policy reform and worked with CBI members to build the case for policy change, formulate a CBI policy position and influence government policy. Before joining the CBI, Adriana worked in local government, using economic analysis to formulate economic strategy at the local and regional levels, working on a range of public policy issues. Her focus was on estimating the regional economic impact of public sector interventions and supporting the economic and strategic cases for funding applications related to local projects.
