CBI appoints new North West chair

Ian is Chief Executive Officer, ABB Limited, UK – a pioneering technology company that works closely with utility, industry, transportation and infrastructure customers.
Ian was appointed to his current role in January 2015, following a long and distinguished career in the global energy sector. He is a Chartered Engineer and Fellow of the Institution of Engineering & Technology.
Ian is currently a member of the CBI President’s Committee and a member of the Advisory Boards of Innovate UK (Energy Revolution) and Imperial College London (Energy Futures Laboratory). He is also a member of the Government’s Made Smarter Commission and its North West Pilot Steering Board. He will join as a member of the CBI’s North West regional council.
