CBI NI to host business virtual event with political leaders
24 November 2020
From the restoration of Stormont back in January, to the twin challenges of COVID-19 and the NI Protocol, 2020 has been a year like no other for business.
Against that background, CBI Northern Ireland is for a second time bringing five of the region’s political leaders together on the morning of Friday 27 November 2020. Political representatives will both reflect on the past year and debate how we navigate the challenging months ahead.
Chaired by BBC NI’s Economic and Political Editor John Campbell, this online event will provide a unique opportunity for companies to hear first-hand from NI politicians.
Political party representatives include:
- Alliance Party: Dr Stephen Farry MP (MP for North Down and Alliance Party Deputy Leader)
- Democratic Unionist Party: Sir Jeffrey Donaldson MP (MP for Lagan Valley and DUP Westminster Leader)
- Sinn Féin: Chris Hazzard MP (MP for South Down)
- Social Democratic & Labour Party: Claire Hanna MP (MP for South Belfast)
- Ulster Unionist Party: Dr Steve Aiken MLA (MLA for South Antrim and UUP Party Leader).
Adrian Doran, CBI Northern Ireland Chair, said:
“It’s no exaggeration to say that most businesses across Northern Ireland have never faced a more challenging year than 2020. Which is why Friday’s event is an unrivalled chance to place the priorities of Northern Irish companies back on the political map.
“Firms from across Northern Ireland will be able to connect with local politicians and have their voices heard on the topics that matter for their business and the wider economy in these unprecedented times.”
