CBI responds to Adrian Smith review on research and innovation

Felicity Burch, CBI Director of Digital and Innovation, said:

“Businesses and universities conducting research rely on international collaboration to thrive – they require access to talent, skills and funding. It is welcome that government is looking at alternatives to provide stability for firms to continue to invest in UK R&D.

“The priority however must remain that the UK seeks the closest possible association with EU research and innovation programmes, which have allowed businesses across the country to have a voice in shaping international research agenda.”
