CBI responds to publication of NI priority sector list

CBI Northern Ireland has responded to the publication of the workplace safety guidance and priority sector list by the Northern Ireland Executive.

Angela McGowan, CBI NI Director, said:

“Northern Ireland companies will welcome this advisory list from the Executive on whether they should remain open or temporarily close.

"The list will also help the public and family members of critical workers to understand just how important some employees really are.  Protecting people’s lives and livelihoods remains the number one priority for firms across Northern Ireland. The agreed guidance between business, trade unions and the Health and Safety Executive for making workplaces safer is therefore hugely important too.

"The requirement for workers and indeed sectors will change as events unfold.  It's important that this guidance is kept under review and additions made where necessary."
