CBI responds to Wellcome's Post-Brexit agreement for research and innovation report

Felicity Burch, CBI Director of Digital and Innovation, said:

“Establishing a post-Brexit agreement on research and innovation will be critical for future UK and EU relations. Cross border collaboration on innovation enables UK organisations to benefit from access to EU expertise, talent and infrastructure and gives them a voice in shaping the international research agenda.

“This report by the Wellcome Trust is a positive intervention and shows that it is wholly possible to establish an agreement that meets the needs and interests of both parties.

“Business and Universities across the regions and nations will now want the UK and EU to act speedily to ensure an arrangement is in put in place that includes the closest possible association with Horizon Europe.”
