CBI Scotland responds to final Infrastructure Commission for Scotland report
27 July 2020
Tracy Black, CBI Scotland Director, said:
“Infrastructure investment has a crucial role to play in the economic recovery from Covid-19 and the Infrastructure Commission for Scotland’s new report makes a number of important recommendations. Creating a specialist, independent body to provide strategic infrastructure advice to government would help ensure we take a long-term approach to infrastructure investment that is informed by the best possible evidence and advice.
“The Commission is also right to highlight the importance of collaboration between the public sector and the construction industry. The journey to a well-connected, low carbon Scotland presents significant opportunities for people, business and the Scottish economy – developing a genuine and effective partnership between business and government at all levels is crucial to delivering on these shared objectives.”
