13 January 2022
The East of England CBI has bolstered its regional team with the appointment of a new Associate Regional Director – who aims to help the region’s businesses navigate a path through recovery to renewed prosperity.
Ann Scott has joined the CBI from Suffolk-based PR and digital marketing firm Genesis, where she developed expertise in a wide range of sectors including tourism, charity, education, local authority and corporate, as well as being the firm’s wellbeing lead.
Prior to joining Genesis, Ann had more than 10 years’ experience working across local authorities, law enforcement, corporate bodies and the charitable sector.
Ann will work alongside Regional Director Richard Tunnicliffe in her new CBI role, and says she is looking forward to using her experience to benefit a region she is passionate about.
That will see the East of England team looking to advance the CBI’s ambitions for economic growth, regional prosperity and social equality, as laid out in its strategic vision Seize The Moment.
Ann Scott, CBI Associate Regional Director for the East of England, said:
“I’m privileged to call the beautiful region of East Anglia my home, so I’m looking forward to speaking for and to the many incredible businesses we have here.
“It’s been a turbulent few years for business with Covid-19, Brexit and the race to net-zero. 2022 has already proved a further challenge with the impact of Omicron on the workforce, supply chain issues and rising energy costs.
“I’ll be working closely with businesses across the region to help them overcome the challenges they face but also to make the most of the opportunities in front of them too.
“We’re at a crossroads in the economy, and the decisions we take in the short-term will define our future for years to come. I’m committed to enabling businesses here seize the moment and create an even more thriving Eastern region.”
Richard Tunnicliffe, CBI East of England Director, said:
“I am thrilled Ann has joined the CBI team; she brings a wealth of experience to the role, and her knowledge of the East of England’s strengths and challenges means she is well equipped to support our members to achieve their ambitions.
“Businesses across the region have faced a tough time over the past two years, but the CBI’s East of England team stands ready to help them bounce back from these challenges and plot a new trajectory towards a prosperous, equitable and sustainable future.”
