CBI Wales welcomes Levelling Up funding
19 January 2023
Commenting on the UK Government's Levelling Up funding for 11 projects worth £208m in Wales, Ian Price, Director, CBI Wales, said:
“The Levelling Up funding will boost the local economy and the potential for growth and jobs creation, particularly the £50m earmarked to build a new railway line that links Cardiff Bay and the mainline station at Cardiff Central.
“It highlights the importance of ensuring Wales has good transport links to make it easier for businesses to attract and retain staff. Major UK infrastructure projects such as the HS2 rail line should provide benefits for the local economy, and the government should continue to provide funding for further investment in our rail infrastructure through the project’s Barnett Formula consequential, which is worth about £5bn to Wales.”
