Our response to Jeremy Corbyn's speech at Labour Conference
24 September 2019
Carolyn Fairbairn, CBI Director-General, said:
“An entire Labour conference passes with no mention of the value business brings to communities and workers across the UK: the jobs they create, the people they train, the innovation they deliver. Instead, firms have faced a volley of attacks, on sectors from life sciences to utilities. This is desperately disappointing.
“The Leader of the Opposition asks who wins. But no-one wins if enterprise fails. No-one wins if investment and jobs leave this country.
“He talks about the importance of listening. This must include business. Companies are committed to creating a better economy, sharing prosperity. We have made an open offer of partnership; we urge Labour to accept.”
